For purposes of receiving a change in classification based upon the completion of an approved upgrading program, the program must be completed within 7 years of the date prescribed in the applicable provision of the regulations (Section 49)
The Minister may extend the 7-year time period for such further period as the Minister determines, having regard to matters the Minister considers appropriate, including illness of the teacher and unavailability of required courses.
