Attention Bridging Teacher's Certificate (BTC) holders:
Beginning January 1st, 2019 BTC holders were eligible to apply for an increase in classification when the Teacher Certification Regulations were changed to compliment the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and the provisions under labour mobility.
Any teacher who continues to hold a Bridging Teacher's Certificate is encouraged to apply for an increase in classification and receive (minimally) an Initial Teacher's Certificate. To apply for a higher classification, please visit the Teacher Certification System online portal (Office of Teacher Certification - Login (novascotia.ca)) and submit an applicaiton for a "BTC Change in Classification."
